DriveAlert+ Information
DriveAlert+
DriveAlert+ (DA+) is a fatigue detection system (i.e., it is a sensor-based device, not a camera) using leading edge AI algorithms, and advanced PERCLOS technology to monitor and detect fatigue, rate of eye closure and microfacial movement. This technology is leading edge and a valuable tool in advancing fleet detection and prevention. In-cab alerts – both audible and visual, aid driver reengagement and a return to a focus on the driving task.
DA+ must not be sold as a standalone unit. In configuring an active and effective fatigue detection and monitoring system the DA+ (and optional Seat Vibration) must be used in conjunction with a Surfsight AI-Series device and a telematics unit capable of a receiving a digital input signal.
Seat Vibration
Paired with the DA+, end-users are provisioned with an in-cab alert system that moves beyond the standard in cab audible and visual alert system, by augmenting the reengagement process via physically shaking the driver’s seat when activated to provide additional stimulus in refocusing the driver to a state of higher awareness and focus on the driving task.
Disclaimer
This Hardware is not intended to replace any appropriate rest and breaks that the driver must and should take, in line with all mandatory rules and regulations. It is an aid to reduce the impacts from and the occurrence of fatigue and distraction, not as a means to remove them from the operating environment. Rest, diet, sleep and healthy mental wellbeing should always be paramount for the benefit of the driver, the employees and all those in the wider supply chain operations. Drivers have a duty of care to ensure they meet these requirements, and access support where needed via Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs), organisation-provided support, or community services such as https://www.healthyheads.org.au/. This Hardware is provided with the aim of reducing these incidents by providing insights to organisations in being able to recognise, act upon, and resolve the issues leading to fatigue events.
The Hardware and any related Subscription Services (Products) supplied by Optix Australasia, are a driver aid only. They are not a substitute for a safe, conscientious driver. They cannot compensate for a driver that is distracted, inattentive or impaired by fatigue, drugs, or alcohol. Regardless of whether any Products are in use or not, the driver is responsible for avoiding a collision and taking appropriate measures when fatigue events occur. The driver and/or employer must take appropriate measures to avoid an accident and should never wait for the Products to provide a warning before taking those measures. Failure to take, or delaying to take, appropriate measures to avoid an accident can result in serious personal injury or death or severe property damage, and Optix Australasia disclaims any and all liability relating to any such action or inaction.
